Condition and ownership markings

The cloth covers show rubbing, surface marks and wear to the edges, corners and spine ends. The paper is age-toned, with pronounced brown spotting and discolouration on the front and rear endpapers. Handwritten ownership markings are present inside.

There is a tear at the bottom of page 443, near the binding, in the blank margin below the glossary text. This is highlighted by the red circle and enlarged detail in the condition photograph. The photographed glossary text is above the damaged area.

An illustrated ex libris ownership bookplate is pasted onto an internal leaf and remains in place. It is included in the photographed condition; no claim is made that it can be removed without damage.

Please examine all eight photographs, particularly the page tear, endpapers and bookplate, before purchasing. This is a worn antique copy and is not offered as a first edition.
